You’re invited to the first ever Uptown Photo Fest! Join us for 3 days of photo experiences, workshops, portraits, and of course, photowalks hosted by Uptown Photowalk in Washington Heights, NYC, in partnership with Recirculation and NoMAA Studios.

Come and create photos in community, level up your skills, and connect with our diverse network of photographers that includes everyone from full time professionals, to hobbyists, to everyone in between.

Panel Talk: Starting Your Career with a Camera at Recirculation

Have you ever thought about photography as a career?

Join us for a panel talk on launching your career with a camera with members of our own Uptown Photowalk community.

Creative professionals from various industries will share their journeys and how photography shaped their careers. Learn firsthand the different routes available to achieve your goals and to start making money as a photographer.

Bring your questions for our Q&A session after the panel!

Description:

Photographers Only!

Hey photographers, it’s time for YOU to step in front of the camera! Join us for a day of fun and creativity as we pair up photographers to capture portraits of each other.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is for photographers only. You must bring your own camera to the event and feel comfortable operating it. (Beginner photographers should check out our Sunday event!)

Here's how it works: We’ll have various lighting setups and backgrounds for you to shoot in at NoMAA Studios’ brand new professional photo studios.

We’ll have a short tutorial on using the equipment and photographing portraits before we start shooting.

We'll pair you up with fellow photographers and you'll rotate through different setups, and pairings, capturing and being captured by a variety of talented photographers.

After our studio session, we’ll head to the nearby J-Hood Wright Park to enjoy the sunset to take more natural portraits.

Not only will you have the opportunity to get great new headshots from different photographers, you’ll also be able to practice your own skills and maybe learn some new tricks!

Snacks and drinks will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions with your ticket purchase.

Street Photography 101 with Sergio “Rose” Santiago at Recirculation

Time: 12-4pm (doors 11:30pm)

Description:

Whether you've just bought a camera or you're looking to refresh your skills, join us for an exciting workshop and photowalk with Sergio "ROSE" Santiago, a talented Bronx-based photographer and educator.

Discover the basics of photography and learn how to craft images on the street.

After the workshop, we'll embark on a photowalk from Recirculation to the iconic Little Red Lighthouse in Fort Washington Park, right under the massive George Washington Bridge.

As we shoot, you'll have the opportunity to practice what you've learned and ask questions in real time.

Plus, snacks and drinks will be provided to keep you energized throughout the day.

Don't miss out on this chance to hone your street photography skills and explore the beauty of our iconic Uptown landmarks!

ACCESSIBILITY: Recirculation is a wheelchair-accessible space with one ramp from the street level down to the store. The bathrooms are not yet ADA compliant and do not yet have a changing table but are gender neutral. The 6/7 and 6/9 events will be mic’d for sound.

NoMAA studios is not wheelchair-accessible as there is no elevator. The 2nd story is only accessible by stairs. We will be on hand if anyone feels comfortable being lifted by volunteers as we do want everyone to feel welcomed.

An ASL interpreter can be available upon request for all events.

¡Sólo para fotógrafos!

Hola fotógrafos, ¡es hora de que TU, te pongas delante de la cámara! Acompáñanos en un día de diversión y creatividad mientras emparejamos a fotógrafos para que se retraten mutuamente.

NOTA: Este evento es sólo para fotógrafos. Debes traer tu propia cámara al evento y sentirte cómodo manejándola. (Los fotógrafos nuevos deberían ver nuestro evento del domingo).

Así es como funciona: Tendremos varias configuraciones de iluminación y fondos para que dispares en los nuevos estudios fotográficos profesionales de NoMAA Studios.

Tendremos un breve tutorial sobre el uso del equipo y la fotografía de retratos antes de empezar a disparar.

Te emparejaremos con otros fotógrafos y rotarás a través de diferentes configuraciones y emparejamientos, capturando y siendo capturado por una variedad de fotógrafos con talento.

Después de nuestra sesión de estudio, nos dirigiremos al J-Hood Wright Park para disfrutar el atardecer y tomar retratos más naturales.

No sólo tendrás la oportunidad de conseguir nuevos retratos de diferentes fotógrafos, sino que también podrás practicar tus propias habilidades y tal vez aprender algunos trucos nuevos.

Se ofrecerán aperitivos y bebidas. Por favor, háganos saber si usted tiene alguna restricción dietética con su compra de entradas.

Si acabas de comprarte una cámara o si quieres refrescar tus conocimientos y habilidades, únete a nosotros en un taller y paseo fotográfico con Sergio “ROSE” Santiago, un talentoso fotógrafo y educador afincado en el Bronx.

Descubre los fundamentos de la fotografía y aprende a crear imágenes en la calle.

Después del taller, nos embarcamos en un paseo fotográfico desde Recirculation hasta el icónico Little Red Lighthouse en Fort Washington Park, justo debajo del puente George Washington.

Mientras disparamos, tendrás la oportunidad de practicar lo que has aprendido y hacer preguntas en tiempo real.

Además, habrá tentempiés y bebidas para mantenerte con energía durante todo el día.

No te pierdas esta oportunidad de perfeccionar tus habilidades de fotografía callejera y explorar la belleza de nuestros lugares emblemáticos de Uptown.

ACCESIBILIDAD: Recirculación es un espacio accesible para sillas de ruedas con una rampa desde el nivel de la calle hasta la tienda. Los baños aún no cumplen con la ADA y aún no tienen un cambiador, pero son neutrales en cuanto al género.

Los eventos del 6/7 y 6/9 tendrán micrófono para sonido.

Los estudios NoMAA no son accesibles para sillas de ruedas, ya que no hay ascensor. Al 2º piso solo se puede acceder por escaleras. Estaremos disponibles si alguien se siente cómodo siendo levantado por voluntarios, ya que queremos que todos se sientan bienvenidos.

Un intérprete de ASL puede estar disponible a pedido para todos los eventos.

Un intérprete de español estará disponible para los eventos del 7 y 9 de junio.
