TAINTED HEAVENS
22 Fordham_ Bronx, NY | Canon Ae-1
The duality between good and evil in life is imitated by art, often. Religion has been controversial for ages and thus birthed the name of this piece, "tainted heavens." Letting my art take its natural course and displaying this piece's defects was eye-opening, as the camera is technically not supposed to shoot this way. To me, the red light leak represents the "bad" or "evil" that people see within religion; on the other hand, the white light leak represents the "good" or the "sacred" seen as a religion. Life and art built on perception made this photo one of my favorites.

”I've had this camera for years and decided to let it naturally create. So when I take photos with my Ae-1, the light leaks tell the story depending on the composition. For example, this specific photo showcasing the church on University in The Bronx seemed to be in the clouds. At first, I didn't care for this photo much, but after I let it marinate, I grew a love for how the white light leak gave it a "Holy" look.”
